The optimal airport ownership structure for Istanbul case was compared with the London case. Critical points to achieve high quality of service as for instance the passenger experience and staff attitude. A combination of competition and collaboration among the two Istanbul airports was considered a good approach to develop the Istanbul Air Cargo Hub as the geographical location is there and very soon the extra capacity. Customs recent achievements were mentioned, but still some way to go if aiming to become a world class hub. In the growth of air cargo, e-commerce should be paid close attention.
