This is mostly favorable in the context of time-varying channels where the feedback implementation becomes problematic. Atmospheric turbulence channels in FSO systems exhibit quasi-static nature. The feedback information can be reliably transmitted, therefore makes possible the use of channel state information at the transmitter side. Such close-loop systems where transmission parameters are adaptively adjusted according to the channel conditions are widely used in radio frequency wireless communications.
