dc.description.abstractUrbanization is still emerging problem in Turkey as a developing country related with the changing socio-economic and cultural conditions. Changes concerning home environment shows a dramatic transition procedure from past to future; tradition to contemporary. The paper aims to explore the changes and the continuity in housing patterns focusing on mezzo scale comparing traditional and changed traditional environments. In this context, the spatial and social structure of house and its near environment are studied. The paper is mainly based on the research projects carried out by the authors that had aimed to identify the effects of socio-cultural and psychological settings on the spatial formation in home environment.en_US
