dc.description.abstractMs. Graham started with the main reason of airport expansion which is traffic growth and followed by the main expansion options: 1) Expanding existing airport; 2) Building a new airport; and 3) Spreading the traffic in a multi-airport system. She used mainly international examples of each option and described the main expansion and traffic hub issues. For instance, whether to close or to keep existing airports. She explain more in detail the London multi-airport system case and highlighted some of the implications for Istanbul.
